About the role
We're seeking an experienced Tax Senior to prepare and review complex tax engagements while working closely with Managers and Partners to deliver exceptional client service. You'll gain meaningful exposure to tax planning, advisory services, and direct client interaction while mentoring junior staff and building the skills needed to advance into a leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and other business tax returns
- Aid with tax planning projects and research complex tax issues
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide responsive service
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and practical planning recommendations for review by Managers and Partners
- Participate in client meetings and develop your advisory and consulting skills
- Mentor and review the work of junior tax staff
- Stay current on federal, state, and local tax legislation and emerging developments
- Utilize technology and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Taxation or related field is a plus)
- CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification preferred
- 3–5 years of progressive public accounting tax experience
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance
- Experience preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with an interest in advisory services and professional development
- Experience mentoring junior staff is a plus
- Proficiency with tax preparation software, Microsoft Office, and technology tools
