Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex individual income tax returns (Form 1040)
  • Prepare and review fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041)
  • Prepare estate tax returns and assist with estate administration matters
  • Prepare and review partnership, S corporation, and C corporation returns
  • Perform tax research and prepare written conclusions
  • Absorb and communicate IRS and state tax notices and correspondence
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, information requests, and project status
  • Train and mentor staff accountants and interns
  • Review workpapers and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on complex client matters
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and development of firm best practices

Qualifications

  • CPA, EA, or CPA candidate preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 4+ years of public accounting tax experience required
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
  • Estate and trust experience required
  • Strong understanding of federal income tax law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
