Responsibilities
- Serve as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, responsible for pre-engagement planning, execution, final deliverable development, and billing and collections.
- Develop a detailed engagement work plan, including budgets and schedules, and monitor project status against the plan.
- Provide strategic oversight of complex partnership and corporate tax engagements, advising on structuring, compliance, and investor reporting across CRE portfolios.
- Build professional relationships with clients, ensuring supreme customer service, quality work products, and professional integrity.
- Act as the prime point-of-contact for clients, keeping them informed of engagement progress and logistics.
- Deliver out-of-scope tax advisory services, including tax structuring and research.
- Manage and direct the CohnReznick team effectively, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Prepare timely and accurate bills for professional services rendered.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Accounting; CPA required.
- Minimum 8+ years of tax and accounting experience in public accounting.
- Current experience with commercial real estate clients, including real estate, private equity, and joint ventures.
- REIT experience is helpful but not required.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax skills, including knowledge of IRC code and regulations.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in audit-preparation software and an understanding of the impact of technology.
- Strong research skills.
- Proven technical skills with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), audit software, ProSystems, or GoSystems; CCH Engagement experience a plus.
- Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask.
Pay
In New York City, the salary range for this role is $145,000 - $245,000. Salary determination will vary based on geographical location, qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies. This role also includes a discretionary performance bonus.
Schedule
This is a hybrid position. Team members are expected to be in the office or collaborating in person on average 3 days a week, with the cadence of in-office presence determined at the team level.
