Tax Senior - Indirect Tax - VAT
About the role
EY’s US VAT practice helps clients identify areas of risks and opportunities and provides sustainable planning opportunities to our clients in support of their need to manage foreign indirect tax matters. Our key objective is to help clients meet their compliance obligations and business goals around the world, providing the perspective and support needed to manage indirect taxes effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an understanding of common principles of VAT and ability to effectively apply them to client situations
- Aid with multiple projects and the execution of technical matters and operations of the practice
- Research VAT legislation, case law and other VAT guidance to support Partners on client engagements
- Aid with educational sessions on developments in international VAT legislation and case law
- Translate your technical skills into practical solution-oriented advice, creating added value for our clients
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree and approximately 3 years of related work experience
- A minimum of 1 year of VAT/indirect tax consulting experience or equivalent experience in business or working for the government
- Exposure to VAT taxation, country-specific or multi-jurisdictional VAT consulting and VAT compliance
- Excellent organizational, analytical and verbal/written communication skills
- Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment

Pay
The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $91,100 to $150,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $109,400 to $170,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
Schedule
Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
