About the role
Communicate with clients to understand their businesses and provide tax solutions. Handle various tax compliance tasks, projections, and respond to tax notices. Assist with audits, prepare tax returns, and build client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to professional ethics and firm policies regarding client confidentiality.
- Provide quality services and personal attention to clients.
- Handle routine audits, questions, and notices from federal or state agencies.
- Frequent client contact, including updating clients on progress and answering questions.
- Request and gather appropriate information from clients and supervisors to prepare tax returns.
- Meet annual chargeable hour goal of 1,700 and interim billable hour goals.
- Pass the CPA exam and be CPA eligible (completed 150 semester hours of education).
- Act as a mentor and role model for tax staff.
- Identify and discuss tax issues with others and work with partners and firm experts to resolve them.
- Prepare/supervise preparation of tax accrual workpapers.
- Review and address complex tax return review points.
- Stay updated on tax law developments and apply them to clients.
- Assist with in-house training presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- CPA license preferred.
- Two to five years of public accounting experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment.
