Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end tax registrations, including account setup, closures, officer updates and company structure changes
- Ensure accuracy and compliance by validating client data, reviewing documentation, and maintaining agency records
- Communicate proactively with clients and internal teams to clarify requests, resolve issues, and support form completion
- Identify potential registration risks or tax notices and escalate appropriately
- Submit billing orders and update internal systems to reflect confirmed agency registrations
- Familiarity with PEO requirements, specifically around Client, PEO and Hybrid reporting methods
- Ensure the secure handling, processing, and storage of company and customer data in compliance with GDPR and applicable data protection regulations
- Track, prioritize, and resolve open items to ensure efficient and effective management of customer unemployment tax accounts
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in payroll, tax, or related operational roles
- Payroll service bureau experience a plus
- Familiarity with US federal, state, and local tax agencies and employer account types (e.g., withholding, SUI, local taxes, PFML Paid Family and Medical Leave)
- Experience with payroll or tax platforms, case management, or ticketing tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time management in a high-volume environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, client-facing and internal
