About the role

This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of tax compliance and accuracy within our company. The successful candidate will oversee all tax-related activities, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all tax-related activities within the company, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Review and verify tax returns and tax-related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide expert advice on tax-related matters to internal teams and clients.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency and minimize tax liability.
  • Stay updated with the latest changes in tax regulations and guidelines and ensure company compliance.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on tax-related matters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
  • Lead the preparation of tax reports and presentations for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA designation is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax-related role, preferably within the legal or accounting industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal tax regulations and guidelines.
  • Proven experience in tax planning and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax-related concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Proficiency in tax software and other related IT tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
