About the role
The Tax Partner will lead tax planning and compliance efforts for affordable housing projects, working closely with clients to develop strategies that align with their financial goals and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies for affordable housing entities
- Provide tax advisory services to clients on issues related to real estate investment trusts (REITs), 501(c)(3) organizations, and other tax-exempt entities
- Prepare and review tax returns for affordable housing projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations affecting affordable housing
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification required
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in tax consulting or public accounting
- Experience with tax issues related to affordable housing is preferred
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
