Tax Managing Director, Global Tax Outsourcing
Job Summary
The Tax Managing Director, Global Tax Outsourcing will lead project services, manage personal client relationships, and support business development and practice management.
Job Duties
- Tax Consulting
- Develops, recommends, and implements practical international tax consulting
- Identifies and resolves complex taxation issues
- Communicates complex technical matters to clients
- Tax Specialization
- Builds and manages strong relationships with clients
- Maintains client account plans and implements action steps
- Manages projects across all lines of business
- Continuously develops expertise in international tax
- Manages international tax services
- Tax Compliance
- Conducts detailed review of international tax aspects of U.S. tax reporting
- Identifies complex and advanced issues throughout the engagement
- Leverages compliance role to identify additional tax issues and opportunities
- Marketing and Business Development
- Manages RFPs for account renegotiations
- Exhibits thought leadership in international tax
- Affirms industry group go-to person status
- Works with Tax Services and International Tax Partners
- Research
- Identifies trends, best practices, and opportunities for tax consulting
- Provides analysis and recommendations for cost-effective client solutions
- Risk & Compliance
- Manages risk and compliance in line with BDO policies
- Maintains highest level of confidentiality and discretion
- Reviews international tax provisions
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Economics, or Finance, preferred
- MST/MBT, preferred
- Experience in international tax, required
- Negotiation experience, required
- Experience supervising tax professionals, required
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), preferred
- Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint, preferred
- Experience utilizing BNA, CCH and/or other search engines, preferred
- Language proficiency in more than one language, preferred
