About the role
CohnReznick is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Private Client Services Group in New York City. This position is hybrid, with team members expected to be in the office on average 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
- The Tax Manager is expected to have high technical knowledge in reviewing and preparing complex individual 1040 returns, fiduciary 1041 returns, 706, 709, family partnerships, private foundations, entity and foreign filings.
- Experience with client-facing interactions, including communicating with clients.
- Scheduling workloads and leading engagements.
- Managing accounts, training, assigning work to staff, and communicating directly with clients and partners.
- Researching topics and communicating directly with tax authorities as needed.
- Responsible for billing and collections.
- Mentoring and supporting staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting/Taxation
- CPA, JD, or EA required
- 5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm doing Private Client Services (PCS) work
- 1+ year of supervisory experience
- Ability to lead, manage, and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
- Experience with foreign filing, FBAR, and multistate
- Strong knowledge and experience with Excel
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ProSystem, CCH Axcess & Engagement, Caseware, and BNA
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation (verbal and written) skills
Qualifications

Pay
In New York, the salary range for a Tax Manager is $110,000 to $175,000. Salary is one component of the CohnReznick total rewards package, which includes a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded, and inclusive parental benefits, and access to best-in-class learning and development platforms.
