Salary: $90,000 - $150,000 per year

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
  • Extensive understanding and experience with Tax Preparation, Tax Compliance, Corporate Tax, Tax Returns, Tax Research, Tax Accounting, and Tax Advisory.
  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Analytical skills with detail orientation.
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant tax laws.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  • Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
  • Conduct complex tax research and prepare tax memorandums dealing with a wide range of corporate, partnership, and consolidated tax issues.
  • Cook up audits by various taxation authorities.
  • Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
  • Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.
  • Coordinate outsourced tax preparation efforts.
  • Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
  • Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
  • Maintain tax balances on general ledger.
  • Prepare all tax papers on a regular basis and handle all information data requests.
