Chicago-based accounting and financial advisory firm that specializes in accounting, assurance, tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and business consulting.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting role.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns.
  • Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems.
  • Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Analytical skills with detail orientation.
  • Previous experience with corporate taxation, consolidations, and partnerships.
  • Prior experience with tax provisions preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. ProSystem fx Tax).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree in Taxation is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with great accuracy, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the preparation and review of corporate, partnership, individual, and trust federal and state income tax returns.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of quarterly estimated tax payments and tax projections.
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits.
  • Provide innovative tax planning strategies and compliance expertise to clients; manage to budget.
  • Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts effectively.
  • Consult, work with, and service client base to make recommendations on business and process improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks.
  • Career development opportunities.
  • Assist with tax exempt issues as needed.
