Tax Manager - Public Accounting, Tax prep, Tax Review

About the role

We are a local full service CPA with offices around the Des Moines, Iowa City and Cedar Rapids areas and are looking to grow our Tax team in Mason City.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of tax professionals, delegating tasks and responsibilities, and overseeing the work of your team members.
• Develop and implement tax strategies. This will involve staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, as well as identifying opportunities for tax planning.
• Review tax returns (some prep may be needed) for clients, ensuring that they comply with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders, including tax authorities and other regulatory bodies, to ensure that all tax-related matters are handled effectively and efficiently.
• Manage client relationships and ensure that clients are satisfied with the services provided by your team.
• Train and mentor team members.

Requirements

• At least 6 years in public accounting with an emphasis in taxation.
• Ideally, 3+ years of manager experience.
• Experienced with both Business and Individual tax.
• CPA license or Enrolled Agent is preferred.
• M.S. in Taxation is preferred.

Pay

Competitive base pay ($90k-$140k) DOE

Schedule

No heavy busy season hour requirements
