About the role

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Manager to join the Private Client Services Group in one of our New York Metro offices. This position is hybrid, with team members encouraged to be in the office on average 3 days a week for in-person collaboration.

You will work on a team with Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners, delivering value to clients through tax efficiency and long-term planning strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, handling pre-engagement planning, execution, final deliverable development, and billing and collections.
  • Lead and manage multiple tax engagements, integrating tax efficiency with long-term tax planning strategies.
  • Prepare and present federal and state income tax returns, and strategize for clients.
  • Work with corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, fiduciary entities, and foundations.
  • Identify industry and client tax planning opportunities and issues.
  • Implement tax advice in response to new legislation and planning.
  • Facilitate complex tax research and establish tax strategies for client business transactions.
  • Advise on IRS and state issues, and respond to correspondence and audits.
  • Assist with interim tax projections and year-end closeouts.
  • Provide supervision, training, and mentoring to tax staff, seniors, and other team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Private Client Services (PCS) experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure required.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of tax software such as CCH Axcess.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.
