About the Role

We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Financial Services Group in the Los Angeles, CA office in a hybrid capacity. This role involves leading engagements for private equity, venture capital, hedge, real estate, cannabis, private credit, and other alternative investment funds. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver audit, tax, and value creation solutions while managing client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the engagement lead on specific client accounts, overseeing pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables.
  • Develop detailed engagement work plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Actively participate in proposals and manage client relationships.
  • Lead and mentor a team of staff associates, including interns, providing regular performance coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication, clear direction, and effective client management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Financial Services experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Active CPA license required.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of audit software such as CaseWare or ProSystem FX.
  • Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Pay

In California, the salary range for Tax Managers is $110,000 - $170,000. Salary determination will vary based on geographical location, qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position, with team members encouraged to be in the office an average of 3 days per week. The cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level to foster collaboration.
