About the Role

We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Financial Services Group in the San Francisco, CA office in a hybrid capacity. This role involves leading engagements for leading private equity, venture capital, hedge, real estate, cannabis, private credit, and other alternative investment funds, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive tax, audit, and value creation solutions.

Your Team

As part of the Financial Sponsors & Financial Services team, you’ll work with some of the nation’s leading investment funds across major financial centers. The team provides situation-tested expertise, industry knowledge, and market intelligence to clients deploying billions of dollars in capital. You’ll collaborate with other CohnReznick industry and service line teams to deliver outstanding technical and client service.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the engagement lead on specific client accounts
  • Take responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables
  • Develop detailed engagement work plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Actively participate in proposals
  • Manage a team of staff associates, including interns, while providing regular performance coaching and feedback
  • Demonstrate effective client management, timely communication, and clear direction

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience in a public accounting firm
  • Financial Services experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Active CPA license required
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of audit software such as CaseWare or ProSystem FX
  • Exceptional organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills

Pay

In California, the salary range for Tax Managers is $110,000 - $170,000. Salary determination will vary based on geographical location, qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies. Additional components of the total rewards package include a discretionary performance bonus.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position. Team members are expected to be in the office on average 3 days a week, with the cadence of in-office presence determined at the team level. Professionals are encouraged to create opportunities for in-person collaboration.
