Responsibilities
- Lead the qualification, compliance, and reporting for key renewable energy tax credits like ITC, PTC, and 45X manufacturing credits, building audit-ready documentation and tracking project eligibility in detail.
- Work closely with legal, finance, and treasury teams to monetize credits through strategies like transferability and direct pay.
- Advise project teams on the tax implications of procurement, phasing, and safe harboring to ensure maximum value across the portfolio.
- Stay ahead of IRS, Treasury, and state-level guidance, interpreting new regulations and communicating their impact to senior leadership and project teams.
- Train internal teams in engineering, procurement, and operations to keep everyone aligned on tax credit requirements.
- Support tax filings, credit calculations, depreciation schedules, and manage audits or inquiries to maintain accuracy and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required. Master’s preferred.
- 7+ years of tax experience focused on renewable energy, infrastructure, project finance, or energy tax credits.
- Deep expertise in ITC, PTC, 45X, and other renewable energy incentive programs.
- Experience in solar, energy development, manufacturing of solar components, or utility-scale energy environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of IRS guidance, renewable energy tax policy, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills for credit valuation and financial modeling.
