About the Role

Tax Managers are responsible for managing all phases of tax compliance for assigned clients in a variety of industries. Managers also participate in firm administration and leadership, including staff and firm development.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated to high-caliber client service
  • Effective project management, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of tax compliance and planning at both the federal and state level
  • Manages complex federal/state income tax returns with multi-state and foreign operations
  • Prepares and reviews GAAP (ASC 740) income tax provisions and supporting documentation for worldwide provision
  • Effectively supervises activities of the engagement team
  • Reviews staff and senior work timely and thoroughly to ensure objectives are achieved
  • Provides seniors and staff with timely, honest, and constructive feedback and serves as a formal and/or informal mentor
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple engagements to successful and efficient completion
  • Generates, pursues, and assists in closing proposal opportunities with existing and/or potential clients
  • Highly responsive to client needs and requests
  • Manages client expectations and the day-to-day client relationship
  • Meets time deadlines while also meeting or exceeding quality requirements
  • Motivates staff through professional and technical reputation, enthusiasm, and positive attitude

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in taxation with a public accounting firm
  • Master’s or other form of 150 college credit hours with requisite accounting-related courses (Bachelor’s degrees may be considered in some situations)
  • CPA certificate required
