Job Summary
As a Tax Manager, you will oversee and review financial information for clients, such as business and individual tax returns, with exposure to a diverse client base.
Job Description
- Tax Strategy and Engagement Oversight
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax planning strategies for clients
- Manage a portfolio of tax engagements, supervise staff, and review work for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor engagement progress, budgets, and timelines
- Research and Analysis
- Stay informed about evolving tax laws and industry developments
- Coordinate and complete tax research efforts
- Address client inquiries and resolve complex tax issues
- Client Communication
- Communicate complex tax concepts to clients
- Prepare and deliver presentations on tax-related matters
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships
- Compliance and Documentation
- Review and oversee tax return preparation for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain tax filing deadlines and manage extensions
- Stay current with tax laws and changes
- Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with other tax professionals
- Supervise and mentor tax staff
- Cultivate a collaborative team environment
- Contribute to internal training sessions
- Process Improvement and Innovation
- Identify opportunities to enhance tax workflows and processes
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax services
- Ensure compliance with internal quality control procedures
- Strategic Business Development
- Collaborate with partners and senior management
- Identify and cultivate business development opportunities
- Contribute to the firm's growth strategy
- Participate in proposal development and presentations
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise subordinate team members
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5 - 8 years of relevant experience
- CPA or Enrolled Agent license (for specialty positions)
- Experience in professional service environments
Preferred Education and Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree for specialty positions
- Additional industry or specialization certifications (for specialty positions)
