Tax Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee the review and approval of tax returns and supporting schedules prepared by offshore resources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Examine journal entries and related accounting records tied to tax activity, confirming proper treatment and documentation.
• Prepare or validate amended filings as needed, resolving discrepancies and helping maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
• Support active audit matters by gathering documentation, evaluating requests, and assisting with timely responses to tax authorities.
• Monitor filing checklists and compliance records to verify deadlines are met and required materials are properly maintained.
• Collaborate with domestic accounting partners and offshore team members to keep tax deliverables organized, accurate, and on track.
• Provide day-to-day guidance on tax compliance matters while helping the organization maintain continuity during the interim coverage period.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in tax compliance with a strong background in reviewing corporate tax returns and related workpapers.
• Prior success overseeing or evaluating deliverables produced by offshore or remote tax support teams.
• Hands-on experience assisting with audits and managing amended return activity.
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes and the review of tax-related journal entries.
• Familiarity with tax technology tools such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, or similar compliance platforms.
• Experience with annual income tax provision, corporate tax return processes, and related compliance activities.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and lead effectively in a hands-on contract environment.
