Tax Manager
Re:Build is hiring a Tax Manager position to oversee US Federal, state, local, and international tax compliance across Re:Build Manufacturing, LLC and its subsidiaries. While we will continue to leverage our external accounting firm for tax prep and specialized advisory, this internal resource will provide strategic oversight, ensure compliance consistency, and deliver significant cost savings (both consultant and risk mitigation).
- Develop a deep understanding of business operations, revenue models, and product classifications
- Build relationships with site controllers and operations teams to embed compliance into workflows, maintaining continuous oversight rather than periodic snapshots
- Identify tax savings opportunities proactively, including incentives, exemptions, and credits specific to manufacturing, while providing real-time guidance during business decisions rather than retrospective analysis
Responsibilities
- Sales & Use Tax - Systematize compliance across all entities to mitigate audit risk, including nexus studies and exemption certificate management
- Manage R&D tax credit studies
- M&A Support - Provide internal tax due diligence for targets
- Transfer Pricing - Maintain defensible documentation and policies to support international business and minimize exposure
- State & Local Compliance - Manage franchise, excise, and property tax obligations
- Vendor Management - Act as the primary gatekeeper for external accounting firms, ensuring outside resources are used only for specialized advisory needs
- This role will expand into increasingly complex fund-adjacent tax matters
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 4 years of experience
- CPA, Member of the Bar or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity

- Deep understanding of manufacturing industry and its tax implications
- Experience with tax compliance and advisory services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $112,000 – $168,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $112,000 – $168,000 per year.
Schedule
The role is currently hybrid with a work week of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
