Lifetime Tax Advisors is part of Lifetime Cos., an à la carte family office providing comprehensive wealth management, tax advisory, and insurance services. We operate using the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), creating clear accountability, systematic execution, and a team working toward shared goals.
Responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of approximately 50–100 clients as their primary trusted advisor
- Work with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, entrepreneurs, and multi-entity organizations
- Translate complex tax issues into clear, actionable recommendations
- Proactively identify tax planning opportunities rather than waiting for clients to ask
- Understand clients' short- and long-term goals and help them plan accordingly
- Navigate difficult or sensitive client conversations with confidence and professionalism
- Build relationships that extend well beyond annual filing season
- Handle complex individual, partnership, corporate, and multi-entity tax situations
- Apply federal tax regulations and reporting requirements, including international considerations for U.S. persons
- Review returns prepared by staff for accuracy and planning opportunities
- Advise on entity structures, real estate taxation, multi-state exposure, and other sophisticated tax matters
- Stay current on tax law changes and proactively communicate their impact
- Represent clients before the IRS when necessary
- Train, supervise, mentor, and develop tax professionals
- Provide technical guidance and maintain quality standards across client work
- Manage multiple client projects and priorities simultaneously
- Support business restructurings and transaction implementation
- Identify inefficiencies and help improve workflows
- Document successful processes so they can be replicated across the organization
- Help Lifetime continue evolving from traditional compliance into proactive advisory relationships
- Collaborate with Lifetime's Wealth Management and Insurance teams
- Identify opportunities to provide greater value across the broader client relationship
- Contribute ideas that improve how the Tax division operates and serves clients
Requirements
- CPA, EA, Attorney, or equivalent professional credential with the ability to represent clients before the IRS and sign tax returns
- 6–8+ years of progressive income tax experience
- Public accounting or professional services background
- Experience with complex individual, business entity, partnership, and/or multi-entity taxation
- Experience directly owning relationships with high-net-worth individuals and business owners
- Strong knowledge of federal tax policy, regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Ability to lead and develop team members
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with professional tax software such as UltraTax, Lacerte, CCH, or similar
- Based in the DFW area or willing to relocate to the Rockwall area
Qualifications
- Experience advising founders, entrepreneurs, and other non-tax professionals
- Real estate professional status and passive activity loss expertise
- Estate, trust, and gift tax experience
- Multi-state tax experience
- Corporate, partnership, and/or international tax compliance
- ASC 740 experience
- Combination of public accounting and industry experience
- TaxDome or similar practice management experience
- Accounting proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage, ResMan, Xero, or similar
- Strong project management and process improvement experience
