We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager who enjoys partnering with business owners and serving as a trusted advisor. This role combines technical tax expertise with strategic consulting, allowing you to help clients make informed financial decisions while overseeing complex tax engagements and mentoring staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of business and individual tax clients from planning through final delivery.
- Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S corporations, trusts, estates, and individuals.
- Develop proactive tax planning strategies designed to minimize tax liability and support long-term financial objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by providing year-round tax consulting and business guidance.
- Assist clients with business formation, entity selection, financial planning, and strategic decision-making.
- Research complex tax issues and communicate practical recommendations to clients and internal team members.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop tax professionals through technical review and coaching.
- Assist clients with IRS correspondence, tax resolution matters, and compliance issues.
- Collaborate with leadership on workflow management, client service initiatives, and practice development.
- Identify opportunities to expand advisory relationships through additional consulting and planning services.
- Ensure engagements are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with professional standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA license required or actively pursuing.
- 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
- Experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state taxation.
- Experience with tax planning, business consulting, or advisory services is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience mentoring or supervising staff.
- A consultative mindset with a passion for helping clients achieve long-term financial success.
