About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Tax Manager to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, and provide strategic tax planning advice. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals and play a key role in driving the success of our company.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), S corporations (1120S), estates, and non-profit organizations.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of tax compliance, including tax provisions, tax audits, and tax planning.
- Provide strategic tax advice to clients, helping them make informed business decisions and achieve their financial goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations and ensure all tax procedures comply with these laws.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize client profitability.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure the accuracy of tax data.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff members, fostering a positive learning environment and promoting professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager role, with a proven track record of successful tax planning and compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including experience with 1040 individual returns, 1065 partnership returns, 1120S corporate tax returns, estate returns, and non-profit tax returns.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide effective tax solutions.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Proficiency in tax software programs and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
