Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end preparation and review of complex federal and state partnership tax returns (Form 1065) and related schedules (K-1s).
- Serve as the subject matter expert on partnership taxation, including basis calculations, capital account maintenance, allocations under Section 704(b), and issues regarding distributions and acquisitions.
- Advise clients on tax-efficient structuring, planning opportunities, and the tax implications of partnership agreements and transactions.
- Lead and develop a team of tax associates. Conduct technical reviews of their work, provide constructive feedback, and support their professional growth.
- Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulations, particularly those impacting partnerships, to ensure firm-wide compliance and proactive client advice.
Requirements
- CPA certification is ideal.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, a "consultant" mindset, and the ability to build trust with both clients and internal staff.
