Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and partnerships
- Manage multiple tax engagements and client relationships simultaneously
- Provide proactive tax planning, research, and advisory services to clients
- Review complex tax returns and ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and provide guidance on tax-related matters
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax planning, compliance, and other business needs
- Manage engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Mentor, train, and develop junior tax professionals
- Collaborate with partners and other firm leaders on client service and firm initiatives
- Stay current on changes in federal, state, and local tax laws
Qualifications
- CPA license required
- 5+ years of public accounting experience
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual, business, and partnership tax returns
- Previous experience managing multiple client engagements and competing deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong client relationship and interpersonal skills
- Able to effectively multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment
- Led, trained, or supervised junior tax professionals
- Strong technical tax knowledge and attention to detail
