Responsibilities
- Review corporate and partnership federal, state, and local income tax returns in accordance with relevant tax laws and regulations
- Review quarterly estimated tax payments and tax return extensions, including monitoring payment deadlines
- Review interim and year-end tax provisions with a focus on current taxable income calculation and validation of deferred balances in accordance with ASC 740
- Liaise with finance and accounting personnel to collect and analyze financial information and document calculations, assumptions, and conclusions to support income tax filings and forecasts
- Develop an understanding of business operations
- Aid with responses to tax notices, including corresponding with taxing authorities to resolve inquiries and disputes
- Day-to-day management of tax team members and/or consultants on assigned projects
- Provide tax support to other corporate and operating groups
- Aid with various projects related to income tax audits and planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of domestic income tax compliance experience
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to perform responsibilities independently, effectively, and efficiently when working remotely
- Self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of domestic corporate and partnership income tax principles
- Strong understanding of basic tax accounting concepts
- Strong tax technical research skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively as a part of a team
- Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, Xlookup, logical formulas)
Qualifications
- Major in accounting and MBT and/or CPA
- Public accounting experience in a nationally recognized firm
- Experience with Corptax, Alteryx, and Workday
