About the role
Domino’s is seeking a motivated tax professional to support and elevate the management of the income tax function. This role oversees day-to-day income tax activities, providing tax compliance, planning, and provision support to the Director of Tax. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, collaborative team player, and effective partner across business functions. As a people leader, this individual will manage, coach, and develop staff while providing trusted support to the Director of Tax.
Responsibilities
- Tax compliance (40%)
- Manage all aspects of preparation and filing of federal and separate company consolidated income tax returns, including related U.S. tax reporting for international entities and state income and franchise tax returns.
- Engage outside service providers and lead compliance for U.S. and international returns.
- Research and analyze the treatment of special or unique tax circumstances, law changes, and update memo documentation to ensure an audit-ready position.
- Manage preparation and filing of non-income tax filings, including FATCA, FBAR, Excise Tax, and 1042 filings.
- Financial Statement Tax Provision (40%)
- Manage quarterly and annual consolidated and separate company tax provisions and related tax accounting activities for all Domino’s entities.
- Maintain and manage processes, procedures, systems, controls, and documentation to ensure accuracy of financial statement tax provisions according to SOX requirements.
- Prepare 10K and 10Q disclosures and supporting analysis.
- Ensure appropriate tax reserves and methodology for ASC 740 and FAS 5 requirements.
- Assist Tax Director with SOX testing, documentation, and best practices.
- Corporate Strategic Tax Planning (10%)
- Review regulatory and legislative developments and make cost-saving recommendations concerning Domino’s tax treatment.
- Participate in special projects, including transfer pricing developments and projection analysis.
- Provide proactive tax guidance in departmental and special project meetings.
- Tax Audits/Inquiries (10%)
- Assist the Tax Director in developing audit strategies, identifying potential issues, and administering audit activities, including resolution of income tax issues, appeals, and/or litigation.
- Assist Tax Director in Managing All Income Tax Functions
- Ensure timely management of all income tax functions with staff according to the OneSource Calendar.
- Identify ongoing training and professional development needs for the tax team and other departments on income tax topics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting or finance.
- Valid CPA.
- 5+ years of combined corporate income tax experience in a large corporate tax department (preferred) or public accounting firm, with duties involving advising clients on business tax matters.
- 3+ years of experience with ASC 740 accounting for income taxes.
- Experience with OneSource Provision and Tax Return software.
- Proficiency in online tax research tools and financial reporting tools such as PeopleSoft and Hyperion.
- Proven leadership, communication, and managerial skills.
