Tax Manager

About the role

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a Tax Manager to support our Chicago Metro market. The ideal candidate will manage client tax compliance needs, anticipate and address tax and business issues, and identify tax planning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Solve problems for middle-market clients in manufacturing, real estate, construction, and professional services
• Manage engagements and provide knowledgeable reviews of complex individual and partnership returns
• Build and serve partnerships and high-net-worth individuals with estate, gift, and trust tax planning and compliance needs
• Leverage project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to lead tax staff and seniors in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrate superior client service skills

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferably with a Master’s degree
• CPA certification and active CPA license required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public accounting, with at least 2 years’ of managerial experience
• Strong background and understanding of C- and S-Corporations, LLCs, and Partnerships
• Deep understanding of pass-through entity taxation, especially partnerships
• Experience with complex individual tax compliance and planning, including estate tax compliance and planning

• Ability to train and develop less experienced professional staff
