Tax Manager
About the role
Cherry Bekaert is seeking a Tax Manager to support our Chicago Metro market. The successful candidate will manage client tax compliance, anticipate and address tax and business issues, and identify tax planning opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Solve problems for middle-market clients in manufacturing, real estate, construction, and professional services
- Manage engagements and provide knowledgeable reviews of complex individual and partnership returns
- Build and serve partnerships and high-net-worth individuals with estate, gift, and trust tax planning and compliance needs
- Leverage project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Lead tax staff and seniors in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Display superior client service skills
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Master’s degree preferred
- CPA certification and active CPA license required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public accounting with 2 years’ managerial experience
- Strong background and understanding of C- and S-Corporations, LLCs, and Partnerships
- Demonstrated experience with pass-through entity taxation, particularly with partnerships
- Understanding of clients' businesses and industries, especially in manufacturing, real estate, construction, and professional services
- PREFERRED: Partnership experience includes entity structuring, operating agreement review and consultation, compliance, allocations, partner transactions and related matters
- Experience with complex individual tax compliance and planning; estate tax compliance and planning are a plus

Pay
The salary range for this position is $100,060 - $162,100.
