Tax & Estate Planning Paralegal - Birmingham, MI

About the role

Clark Hill PLC is seeking a paralegal with 5+ years of experience for the Tax and Estate Planning business unit in the Birmingham, MI office. This person will be responsible for clients’ tax preparation, estate planning documents, and probate and trust administration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns using tax preparation software
• Create and review estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
• Administer probate and trust cases, including managing court filings and communicating with beneficiaries
• Ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws and regulations
• Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals to provide comprehensive client services

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or a Paralegal Certificate
• Working knowledge of tax preparation software, or willingness to learn
• Excellent computer skills, strong math skills, and a high-level attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to stay organized and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• A background in Accounting or Finance is preferred
• Knowledge of Lackner Estates and Trust Administration software is preferred

Pay

The salary range at the time of posting is $70,000 - $92,000 annually, based upon a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to employee qualifications, relevant experience, skill sets, training, internal equity, and market data.

Schedule

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
