Must-Haves
- 5+ years of paralegal experience focused on estate planning and/or probate
- Strong knowledge of estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives)
- Experience supporting estate administration and/or probate matters
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work directly with clients on sensitive financial and legal matters
- High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and file management
Key Responsibilities
- Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
- Aid attorneys with advanced estate planning and tax strategy matters
- Gather and analyze client financial information, including assets, liabilities, and ownership structures
- Prepare summaries and documentation supporting estate plans and strategies
- Cook up execution of estate planning documents and client signing meetings
- Support trust funding and asset transfer processes
- Aid with probate and estate administration as needed
- Maintain organized client files and track deadlines to ensure timely completion
- Communicate directly with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals involved in estate planning
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a tax law firm or exposure to tax-related matters
- Familiarity with estate tax planning, wealth transfer, or capital tax mitigation strategies
- Experience with estate planning software such as WealthCounsel or similar platforms
- Experience with Clio or other legal practice management systems
- Paralegal certificate or related legal education
