About the role
Withum is seeking accounting majors graduating in the upcoming academic year to join our Tax team as part of the November 2027 Class. This is a great opportunity to launch your career in public accounting by working alongside experienced tax professionals. You'll gain hands-on experience in individual and business tax preparation, compliance, and planning, while supporting clients across diverse industries.
Responsibilities
As part of a team supervised by a Manager or Partner, you may:
- Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and nonprofits
- Assist with tax planning and research projects using authoritative sources and Withum's proprietary tools
- Analyze financial data and apply tax regulations to client scenarios
- Collaborate with audit and advisory teams to ensure integrated client service
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to strategic discussions
- Leverage tax technology platforms and data analytics tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Stay current on evolving tax laws and industry trends
- Assume increasing responsibility on engagements as your proficiency grows
- Miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduated or graduating college student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn and grow
- Ability to work in one of our office locations
Preferred qualifications
- 150 credit hours
- Prior internship experience with a public accounting firm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with tax software is a plus
Pay & benefits
- Compensation ranges from $62,000 to $90,000 based on location, with final offers based on the specific role, hiring location, and the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications
