About The Role
Gen II is seeking Tax Directors to join our growing team. Our clients include private equity funds, private equity fund of funds, SBIC funds, and family office private equity programs. The role involves providing tax compliance and consulting services, including:
- Obtaining a detailed understanding of client partnership agreements and applying them to deliverables, such as tax carried interest computations
- Reviewing and overseeing validation of Forms W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, W-8EXP, and W-8IMY to ensure proper administration of treaty claims for reduced U.S. withholding tax
- Final sign-off and review of federal and state tax returns and associated workpapers
- Frequent communication with clients and tax authorities
- Coordination with external auditors and tax reviewers
- Supervision, training, and evaluation of tax personnel at various levels
- Leading, directing, and coaching a team of tax professionals
- Managing special projects as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting (150 credit-hours minimum)
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Understanding of U.S. partnership taxation
- CPA certification or equivalent with active PTIN
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree such as Masters in Taxation, JD, and/or LLM
- Understanding of U.S. international taxation rules (ECI, Branch Profits Tax, FDAP, FATCA, FIRPTA)
- Understanding of U.S. corporate taxation
- Private equity work experience
- Tax work experience with an emphasis in partnership and/or international tax matters
- Proficiency with Thomson Reuters GoSystem
Pay
The salary range for this position is $160,000–$180,000, plus a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. The actual salary offered will depend on the candidate’s experience level.
