Tax Director

About the Role

Expand revenue of existing clients and identify business opportunities for CBIZ. Responsible for short-term and long-term business planning, meeting billing, realization, days outstanding, and individual charge hour objectives. May be required to meet business development revenue expectations through adding new clients, cross-serve activity, and executing a personal marketing plan.

Serve as a key client contact and trusted business advisor, ensuring quality control standards are met. May manage staff, act as an internal advisor on technical matters as a Subject Matter Expert, and be a member of the Senior Operations Management Team. Drive a positive team environment, support management decisions, and build a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

• Expand revenue from existing clients
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term business plans
• Identify and pursue business opportunities for CBIZ
• Meet billing, realization, days outstanding, and charge hour objectives
• Achieve business development revenue expectations through new client acquisition and cross-serve activity
• Serve as a trusted business advisor and primary client contact
• Ensure quality control standards are consistently met
• Manage staff and oversee client engagements
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert on technical matters
• Participate in the Senior Operations Management Team
• Foster a positive team culture and support management decisions
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation, or related field)
• 8 years of experience in public accounting or a related field
• 6 years of supervisory experience
• Active CPA or equivalent certification
• Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments, and prioritize effectively
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for all organizational levels, internally and externally
• High level of business integrity, client service, and leadership skills
• Willingness to travel based on client and business needs
