About the role

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, seeks a full-time 1st to 5th year associate in the Tax Practice of our San Francisco office. The position offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Strong technical tax experience practicing in a law firm or in tax with the federal government
  • Experience dealing with large, complicated IRS disputes and litigation involving partnerships, estates, corporations, multinationals and high net worth individuals
  • Superior knowledge and understanding of IRS practice and procedure
  • IRS Chief Counsel experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a high degree of maturity, keen attention to detail, and a proven willingness to accept significant responsibility and manage a challenging workload within a fast-paced environment
  • LL.M in tax
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Willingness to work in the office
  • Admission to the California state bar

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is $225,000 - $360,000 per year. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Schedule

Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
