Tax & Business Planning Associate (2-3 Years Experience) – Coralville, IA

About the Role

We are seeking an Associate to join the Tax & Business Planning department in our Eastern Iowa office with the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment.

Our Tax & Business Planning Team advises individuals, families, business owners, and tax-exempt organizations on a broad range of matters, including:

• Estate planning, including revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, gifting strategies, and business succession planning
• Trust and estate administration
• Tax planning and compliance
• Formation, governance, and restructuring of LLCs, corporations, and nonprofit entities
• Purchase and sale transactions involving closely held businesses
• Equity compensation matters
• Charitable planning and private foundation matters
• Entity governance, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, and buy-sell arrangements

Requirements

• 2-3 years of related experience
• Prior experience in private practice or related in-house positions
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong academic background
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to promptly get admitted in the state of Iowa
