About the Team

You will work closely on an engagement team made up of Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners. The firm serves a variety of clients across industries, including:

  • Consumer & Industrial
  • Financial Sponsors & Financial Services
  • Life Sciences & Healthcare
  • Public Sector
  • Real Estate
  • Renewable Energy
  • Technology & Media
  • Private Client Services (varies by office)

Responsibilities

As a Tax Associate, you will:

  • Become familiar with current tax theories and laws and perform procedures in accordance with firm standards accurately and timely.
  • Work on a variety of client deliverables, including preparation of tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, and Corporations.
  • Identify potential tax issues and prepare tax adjusting entries and tax trial balances based on audited or client-provided trial balances.
  • Research filing requirements and tax issues using the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and other relevant authorities.
  • Manage daily client workflow and multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Draft tax technical memorandums.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Plan to complete 150 credit hours to be CPA licensed.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2 in both major and overall coursework.
  • Leadership positions in extracurricular activities (preferred).
  • Prior work or internship experience (accounting experience is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills and sharp critical thinking.
  • Comfort navigating fast-paced environments and embracing change.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

Pay

In Virginia, the salary for a Tax Associate is $77,000.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position, with team members encouraged to be in the office an average of 3 days a week. The cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level.
