Tax Analyst - Indirect Tax

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple states and local jurisdictions
- Calculate and accrue use tax on bank purchases, fixed assets, and vendor invoices
- Review invoices and transactions to determine proper tax treatment and applicability
- Reconcile tax accounts and ensure timely and accurate remittance of tax liabilities
- Maintain and update taxability matrices and jurisdictional tax rules
- Partner with Accounts Payable, Procurement, and business units to ensure proper tax treatment on transactions
- Auxiliary in process improvements and automation initiatives within the tax function
- Auxiliary in the implementation and maintenance of tax systems and tools (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, or similar)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax, preferably within financial services or a large corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. sales and use tax regulations and multi-state compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reconciliations, pivot tables)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
