About the role
The Tax Analyst will support state and local indirect tax audits, assist with compliance activities, perform balance sheet account analysis, monitor changes in tax laws, provide guidance on tax-related issues, and support internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage state & local audits which includes providing computerized data for sample selections, reconciliation of taxes remitted, sample evaluation, retrieving and reviewing documents, responding to auditor’s questions, review and respond to audit work papers.
- Provide guidance to field personnel on tax-related issues. Attend internal meetings to present training on state and local tax matters.
- Attend training/development courses as required by Schlumberger policies and enhance knowledge in all tax areas affecting responsibilities.
- Review and monitor changes in state tax laws and their effect on Schlumberger.
- Balance sheet account analysis responsibilities for various state and local tax accounts.
- Review and provide guidance relative to changes in business practices affecting tax.
- Assist other Tax Department personnel in all areas as needed, including occasional return filings.
- Assist the HUB Tax Manager with special products as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Former audit experience with a taxing authority a plus
- US Indirect tax plus 3 years of sales & use tax audit management/litigation experience

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually
