About Our Client: The organization operates within the insurance and financial services sector, specializing in surplus lines tax filings and compliance across multiple states. It addresses complex regulatory requirements by managing high-volume tax filing, reporting, and reconciliation processes while helping clients maintain accurate and timely compliance with state regulations. About the Opportunity: The Tax Analyst manages surplus lines tax filings, reports, and reconciliations across all states. This role ensures accurate and timely regulatory filings, supports compliance research and client correspondence, and assists with audits and project management activities. The position contributes to maintaining regulatory compliance while providing effective support to clients and internal teams. Responsibilities: • Manage multiple priorities while delivering accurate filings with a strong focus on customer service.• Maintain knowledge of surplus lines tax regulations and assist with compliance research.• Document correspondence with clients and state agencies accurately and consistently.• Build positive professional relationships with clients and team members.• Assist team members in maintaining compliance with applicable tax filing requirements.• Monitor reports and coordinate with Accounting as needed.• Support the team lead with ad hoc requests and special projects.• Complete state regulatory surplus lines tax filings accurately and within required deadlines.• Reconcile filings with platform and state reports, investigating and resolving discrepancies.• Organize and prioritize tasks to meet filing and reporting deadlines.• Prepare and submit periodic state regulatory reports.• Review and verify documents submitted by clients.• Assist with surplus lines audits.• Conduct compliance and quality reviews related to surplus lines filings.• Escalate issues appropriately and support timely resolution.• Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.• Minimum 2 years of filing experience or 3 years of experience in accounting, compliance, insurance, or a related field.• Knowledge of surplus lines tax requirements preferred.• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software.• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.• Proactive, self-directed, and decisive approach to work and problem-solving.
