Tax Analyst Associate (Hybrid in CA)

Responsibilities
- Review fiduciary income tax returns, including coordination of payment for balances due and distribution of Schedule K-1 to beneficiaries
- Monitor tax return preparation process to ensure timely completion
- Assist with quarterly tax projections and coordinate payment of tax estimates
- Address tax notices by contacting tax agencies and/or preparing response letters
- Assist with tax, estate, and financial planning opportunities
- Generate annual tax worksheets, including monitoring of income reallocation factors for mutual funds, master limited partnerships, original issue discounts, unit investment trusts, mortgage-backed securities, and real estate mortgage investment conduits
- Coordinate filing of tax informational forms (e.g., Forms 1099-DIOB, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, 1099-R, 5498)
- Prepare quarterly and/or annual federal and state tax withholding returns
- Oversee tax return processing to maintain quality control and ensure tasks are completed
- Perform monthly tasks to support functional areas within the tax and operations departments, including:
- Review of trust accounting data recorded in FIS Addvantage
- Troubleshooting problems to ensure data integrity and seamless integration of transaction data mapped to OneSource Trust Tax software
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and/or annual federal and state tax withholdings informational returns
- Work on special projects assigned by the tax and operations department managers, including assisting with drafting/updating tax procedures
- Travel occasionally to attend tax conferences
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of related experience
- Entry-level knowledge of finance, financial planning, accounting, and tax areas of a business
- Strong time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills
Pay
Pay Range: $26.88 - $35.83 hourly. This range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay at the time of posting. Pay is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
