About the role
We are a 100% virtual CPA firm serving Real Estate Investors, Syndicates, and Fund Managers. As a Senior Tax Advisor you will provide tax planning and advisory services to real estate investors and small business owners, research complex tax issues, mentor junior staff, and nurture client relationships through frequent email, Zoom, Loom, or phone contact. The role demands reliability—delivering on promises and meeting deadlines—while translating intricate tax strategies into clear, actionable steps for clients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary client contact, managing expectations, responding promptly, and proactively reaching out
- Create and periodically update tailored tax plans for clients
- Research complex tax issues, cite Internal Revenue Code and supporting sources, and recommend resolutions
- Coordinate client tax-preparation needs with the preparation team and assist with client communications during tax season to ensure seamless transitions and implementation of proposed strategies
- Maintain professional ethics and client confidentiality in accordance with firm and AICPA policies
- Act as a subject-matter expert in real estate taxation with deep knowledge of real estate concepts and transactions, tax regulations and strategies, and general accounting; stay current on tax-law changes through continuing professional education
- Participate in firm projects that enhance client and employee experience, including client proposals, process improvements, committee work, and development/delivery of training materials
- Complete administrative tasks: maintain accurate, up-to-date project information in the project management system, take and store adequate client notes, and adhere to project processes
- Recommend additional firm services that benefit the client (e.g., bookkeeping, tax advisory)
Measures for Success
- Client Net Promoter Score averaging 9/10 or higher
- Timeliness of deliverables and workpapers, reflected in production metrics
- Maintenance of task tracking and pace with engagement through software
- Growth in technical skills evidenced by participation in advisory channels and ability to handle more complex projects
- Client retention rate for ongoing advisory services

- Always use video (80% of communication is non-verbal)

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Senior Tax Associate or similar role
- CPA or EA certification required
Pay
$127,135 – $146,135
