About the role
We are a 100% virtual CPA firm, with our team located across the United States. Our team is passionate about real estate and often owns investment properties.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring their best interests are represented, with up to 50% of time spent meeting with clients via Zoom
- Create and deliver tailored tax plans to clients, and update those plans periodically
- Maintain strong client relationships by managing their expectations, being responsive to their communications/emails, and reaching out proactively
- Research complex tax issues, citing the Internal Revenue Code and supporting sources, and provide recommendations for resolution
- Cook up the client’s tax preparation needs with the tax preparation team, and assist with client communication during tax season to ensure proposed strategies are implemented
- Remain updated on changes in tax laws and procedures
- Achieve an average of 9/10 on your Net Promoter Score surveys
- Delivering on your promises with clients and maintaining strong client relationships
- Participation in the expansion of the firm's technical knowledge through research and collaboration with internal teams
Requirements
- Clean background with no noise or distractions
- Business casual attire for client interactions
- Always use video (80% of communication is non-verbal)
Qualifications
- CPA or EA Certification (CPA Preferred)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Tax from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5-7 years of real estate and small business tax compliance and/or planning experience.
- Experience working directly with clients, managing client relationships, and ensuring engagement objectives are met accurately and on time.
- Experience performing tax projections and estimates using professional tax planning software (e.g., BNA Tax Planner, CCH Prosystem fx Planning, etc.).
- Effective written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- PREFERRED: Experience with partnership syndications, including knowledge of waterfall allocations and operating agreements.
