Responsibilities
- Involvement with preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with US GAAP and US statutory reporting requirements
- Involvement with preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns for US Insurance and Non-insurance corporations
- Involvement with preparation and review of state, local, and other tax compliance (i.e. sales & use, personal property, commercial rent tax, federal excise tax reporting, etc.)
- Involvement with preparation and review of US information filings for foreign entities (i.e., Form 5471, 8865, 8621, etc.) and foreign tax credit calculations (Form 1118)
- Aiding with federal, state, and local tax authority audits
- Identifying opportunities and making recommendations to reduce taxes and minimize audit exposure
- Utilizing software and systems to improve quality of work, improve processes and increase efficiency
- Working with third party vendors that provide services to the tax team
- Engaging with external specialists as necessary to support complex tax issues
- Serving as a resource to support operations and strategic corporate objectives
- Reconciling and utilizing data to execute and compile tax requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of tax experience at a public accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
- Experience in the (re)insurance industry is a plus
- CPA or CPA track
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of Workday Ledger and Oracle TRCS Tax Provision is a plus
Pay
The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $110,000 - $130,000.
Schedule
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with approximately 3 days in the office per week, with the remainder of the week remote.
