Senior Accountant (Tax)

About the role

Senior Accountants should have robust interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. They provide the Accounting Department with operational efficiencies and guide junior staff members in completing workflows. Senior Accountants are expected to develop on both a personal and professional level during their tenure with the company.

Management & Reporting

This position has no direct reports and reports to a manager.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of personal, business, and informational tax returns.
• Review personal tax returns.
• Process monthly, quarterly, and annual business accounting work.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Supervise staff and assist with training.
• Provide assistance to Accounting Manager on project-based work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (required).
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in the Accounting field (required).
• CPA designation or working towards (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to assimilate to new programs.
• Experience with CCH Axcess Software (preferred).
• Agriculture experience (a plus).
• Strong work ethic and team player.
• High degree of professionalism and the ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written.
• Desire to develop and build client relationships, providing a positive client experience.
• 3 years of public accounting experience (preferred).

Pay

Salary range from $60,000 to $75,000 annually.
