Tax Accountant - Public Accounting, Tax prep, Pass-Through

We are a family owned full service CPA firm with an office in Austin and coming up on 35 years in business. What separates us from other CPA firms is that we do not have any billables for our employees to hit. Take care of your work, take care of your clients, that's what we care about.

Responsibilities

• Works with the tax team to prepare and learn to review tax returns
• Handles routine client tax questions, and works with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance
• Completes research and other special assignments/tasks as needed
• Recognizes and informs senior management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clients
• Ensures professional development through ongoing education and obtaining additional certifications as appropriate
• Stays informed about firm capabilities other than tax compliance area, and promotes these activities to clients when appropriate

Requirements

• At least 3 years in public accounting with an emphasis in taxation
• Experienced with both Individual and Business tax
• CPA eligible is REQUIRED (CPA license is a plus)
• M.S. in Taxation is preferred
• This role is an on site position
