Tax Accountant I

About the role

This is a hybrid role working between your home office and our Burlington, MA headquarters. The Tax Accountant will be part of a six-person tax department and will primarily handle non-income based taxes and other regulatory filings, with exposure to state, local, and federal income taxation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file sales & use tax and VAT returns for multiple jurisdictions in the US, Canada, and Europe.
  • Analyze and reconcile sales tax liability accounts.
  • Perform research and monitor states for changes in sales tax regulations.
  • Prepare and file property tax returns, annual reports, and business licenses, as well as other non-income based returns.
  • Respond to notices from state tax authorities.
  • Assist with audits by state tax authorities.
  • Perform technical tax research to support tax positions.
  • Collaborate with finance and sales teams to address sales tax-related matters.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Assist with preparation of supporting workpapers for federal and state tax returns, including R&D and foreign tax credit.
  • Leverage AI technologies to optimize and streamline tax processes and workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel & Word.
  • Strong analytical, verbal/written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and own processes with multiple deadlines.

Pay

Base Salary Range: $65,000–$70,000. This position is eligible to participate in our performance-based annual corporate bonus plan. Final base compensation is determined by job-related skills, education, demonstrable experience, and allowance for future and continued salary growth.
