The role of Senior Tax Accountant is to ensure compliance with various tax obligations and to assist in developing a comprehensive tax strategy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Yearly, Quarterly, and Monthly filings for Sales and Use tax returns.
• Prepare Yearly, Quarterly, and Monthly filings of tangible and intangible property returns.
• Affiliate in reviewing tax exempt certificates, tax audits, and tax notices.
• Collaborate with an outsourced tax partner to ensure all deadlines, including annual reporting, are met.
• Prepare property tax filings.
• Reconcile income tax accounts and ensure the correct booking of tax payments, provisions, credits, etc., on the balance sheet and P&L.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Engage in special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA preferred but not required
• 3+ years of related experience

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of state and local reporting and tax requirements in a holding company environment
• Excellent tax accounting and analytical skills
• Highly functional in Office (Advanced Excel Skills a must)
• Exposure to tax software such as Avalara
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and execute multiple simultaneous assignments under pressure and tight deadlines
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
