Tax Accountant

About the role
The Staff Tax Accountant will be exposed to US (federal & state) corporate income tax compliance, quarterly and year-end financial reporting, and some indirect tax compliance. This role will also offer a unique opportunity to be exposed to post-merger integration and tax planning opportunities. The Staff Tax Accountant will report directly to the Tax Manager and will be immersed in diverse tax matters.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze data for Federal and State corporate income tax return filings and respond to taxing authority inquiries.
- Apply core accounting principles, including debits, credits, and general ledger journal entries.
- Work with tax accounting concepts, including book-to-tax adjustments and calculating deferred tax assets and liabilities.
- Prepare tax memos in Word, create, update, and/or improve tax workpapers in Excel, and occasionally prepare presentations in PowerPoint.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or tax is required; CPA is preferred.
- 1-2 year(s) of tax compliance/accounting experience.
- Public accounting and corporate tax experience is a plus.

- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Pay
USD $70,000 to $83,000 annually including on target earnings. The actual amount offered may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities.
